    Argyle Lions Club: Deadlines vary

    Juniors and seniors have an opportunity to participate in three different speech contests to earn scholarship money from the Lions District 2-E2 for the Youth Contest Opportunities. The three different contests they can choose from are: Drug Awareness Speech Contest, Diabetes Awareness Essay Contest and the Outstanding Youth Contest. Click here for more details!


    Denton County Texas A&M Club Scholarship: Deadline March 10
    The 2024 Denton County A&M Club Scholarship application can be found here. It is available for students who live in Denton County, are accepted into Texas A&M, and plan to attend in Fall 2025. Please click on the flyer link below with more information regarding eligibility.

    Terry Traditional Scholarships: Deadline varies by college

    The Terry Traditional Scholarship, or Freshman Scholarship, is a full ride, last dollar scholarship that covers up to eight semesters. It is awarded to Texas high school seniors who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas. Applications for the Terry Scholarship are available only from the universities affiliated with the Terry Scholarship Program and are not available from the Foundation or from high schools. This is the best place to find application information, deadlines, and direct contact information for the Terry Scholarship application at that university.

     


    STATEWIDE AND NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS


    Scholarships for Texas Athletic, Music, and Academic Participants: Deadline February 2, 2024

    For the sixth consecutive year, H-E-B will award 15 high school seniors who participate in UIL competitions with a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of their community service and involvement in their communities. Five students who competed in athletics, five students who competed in music, and five more students who competed in academic events were selected from the pool of applicants from across the state. H-E-B will award each selected student with a $2,000 scholarship toward their college/university of choice. Recipients will be spotlighted during the 2024 UIL Texas Girls & Boys Basketball State Championships.

    Requirements:  You must be a current Texas high school senior graduating in 2024 with a minimum 3.3 GPA, have participated in a UIL competition as a high school student and have been active in community service programs or events.

    Applicants must complete the online application form and submit all support documents at the same time. Applications for the 2023-24 school year are now OPENWhat you will need to apply for 2023-24 consideration.

    • Current GPA
    • Number of Community Service Hours in the last 12 months
    • Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
    • A Letter of Recommendation
    • A short essay (500 words or less) on the topic: "What does Community mean to you?" 

    Navy ROTC Program

    The purpose of the Navy ROTC Program is to educate and train qualified young men and women for service as commissioned officers in the Navy's unrestricted line, the Navy Nurse Corps and the Marine Corps. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the Navy ROTC Scholarship Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps. Selected applicants for the Navy ROTC Scholarship Program are awarded scholarships through a highly competitive national selection process, and receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits OR Room and Board at many of the country's leading colleges and universities. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the unrestricted line Naval Reserve or Marine Corps Reserve.

    Heather Lynn Scott McDaniel Memorial Scholarship

    • Eligibility: Any high school or undergraduate student in Texas who has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship if they have overcome difficult challenges in their life and want to pursue their educational goals and college degree.

    • Eligibility: High school and undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they are first generation college students, have volunteering experience, and are in Texas, Mississippi, or Washington.

    Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
    • Amount: $10,000
    • Eligibility: Any student who is fighting through their own loss of a close family member, legal guardian or loved one, and is in need of financial support for their education as they move forward.

    Tarleton's Guaranteed Scholarship Program
     
    In order to be considered for the President’s Guaranteed Scholarship program, you must complete your General Scholarships Application. Awards will be divided between fall and spring semesters based on full-time enrollment and be renewable ​for up to 4 years with satisfactory academic progress.     Tarleton Promise Program
     
    To be considered for the Tarleton Promise program, the student must complete Tarleton’s General Scholarships Application and FAFSA application. The award is renewable for up to four years as long as the following eligibility requirements are met each year the student attends Tarleton. The Promise Program serves to assist qualifying students in covering the costs of room and board for which the other grants do not. Click here for more information.
